LiftOff by CCAWR is Hiring

September 25, 2021

Hello Community,

In August the CCAWR launched the LiftOff program for Black business entrepreneurs. The LiftOff program is a business incubator designed to help members of the Black community start and scale their business ventures. Funded by the federal government, the program will provide training and mentoring for entrepreneurs in the Region of Waterloo, Wellington County, and beyond. LiftOffByCCAWR was featured in The Record and on CBC.

As we prepare to accept the first cohort of Black business entrepreneurs in 2022, we are hiring up to seven full-time positions, for the duration of the three-and-a-half years’ project. The first two positions have been posted to the Indeed website:

All jobs will offer competitive salaries and benefits and are targeted at individuals who identify as Black.

The LiftOff project aims to address and remove systemic barriers faced by Black individuals in starting and growing their businesses. As such, the positions to be hired will play a key role in providing competent and credible representation of the CCAWR and our community partners.

The ideal candidate(s) will meet the articulated qualifications and will be a Black-identifying person.

In Solidarity,
The Caribbean Canadian Association of Waterloo Region.
